A: Sessions include 60 miles of round-trip travel from area code 14724. For weddings, the first 100 miles are complimentary with every package! I absolutely love documenting destination engagement sessions and weddings if my schedule is open for extra travel! A: The cameras I use are equipped with two memory card slots, meaning every image I take is automatically double-written into two locations! Upon uploading your images, I save them on to two separate solid-state hard drives. While editing, one copy of all the RAW files is kept in a fire-proof safe, just in case! Your final edits are exported & saved on both hard drives, while also being uploaded to cloud storage via your online gallery!
A: Honestly, a healthy mix of both documentative and fine art... which essentially means there will be moments on a wedding day or during a session where I capture images as they authentically happen, with little to no interference. At the same time, I will never pass up the opportunity to style an amazing magazine-worthy portrait, and truly enjoy utilizing an intricate posing workflow that helps ensure couples, groups, and families feel more comfortable being photographed!
A: For every event, I bring a non-shooting assistant to work alongside me! Most commonly, it's Lindsey, the backbone & unsung hero of Hannah Bryerton Photography since 2020. As my assistant, Lindsey helps manage all the photographic equipment, takes intricate care of our couples, organizes family formal groupings, and keeps our timeline perfectly in order!
If you opt to include a second shooter in your wedding collection, I choose to hire another consummate, full-time professional photographer to help document your day! It's never the same person, but I do have a handful of go-to, wildly-talented friends I love and deeply trust!
A: I actually started this sweet journey while I was in college! I documented my very first wedding in 2011 (not well, I should add) and worked part-time in this career until 2015. Despite obtaining a degree in business marketing, I always knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur. I went all in on this business just after graduating, and have since captured over 150 wedding days and countless portrait sessions! I still have to pinch myself regularly that this is actually my job!
A: Two things are required: first is a formal contract signing, completed seamlessly online via my client management system. I email you a contract to review, you e-sign it, and I do the same on my end!
Secondly, a non-refundable retainer fee is required to hold your date on my calendar. This $1,500 payment (which goes toward your final balance!) essentially says "hey, this photographer is not allowed to book any other events or obligations on X/X/XX because I paid for dibs on it." Your booking is ONLY complete once the contract and retainer fee are both submitted! That's what makes us officially-official!
A: For the sake of time and everyone's sanity: my answer is yes. DEFINITELY invest in the day-of coordination if you value your wedding day experience and mental well-being. And if you want to really enjoy the planning process, hire a full planner! A good planner will make your life so much easier and are truly worth their weight in gold.
Fair warning: some venues will say they have an on-site coordinator, but typically their job to manage the venue itself, not all the personalized logistics. I've never met a couple who said they regretted coordination services, but I have encountered countless who only wished they had made the investment!
A: Personally, I do not. And it's primarily for two reasons: Firstly, RAW images are incredibly large files that require specific software to view and alter. If you don't have experience working with RAW images and specific editing programs, the files are basically just oversized, data-filled, memory-eaters on your computer.
2. The unedited files are simply step one of the final product. I shoot with very intricate intention, keeping my entire post-process in mind! I have mastered using a personalized preset and utilize color correction to ensure images are cohesive with my editing style. Asking for RAW files is basically like asking a bakery to just give you the batter before the cake is even baked & decorated. A huge chunk of the magic lies in the post-process!
A: I genuinely believe that each couple's investment warrants an extreme level of attention to detail and intricate planning that I can ONLY provide if I'm not spreading myself too thin. As a business owner, it is my goal to make every couple feel like a priority while planning for one of the greatest days of their lives together. Of course documenting beautiful images is the ultimate goal! But it takes so much intentional time to build relationships and be able to give every client the experience they deserve!
I generally book engagement sessions for whenever YOU want to be photographed. Some couples love spring/summer, while others would prefer to wait until the fall foliage peaks. It’s entirely up to you! Engagements are typically scheduled in the evening on weeknights (Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays) due to my weekends being booked so far in advance with weddings and travel for events.
Lastly, if you’re feeling unsure about logistics or what to wear, have no fear--I send each of my couples an engagement session guide that covers all the nitty-gritty details!
We've discussed all the details and determined we are the PERFECT match for one another! YAY! Now it's time to work up a proposal, sign your official contract, and lock in your date on my calendar with a retainer fee! After all of that, the REAL fun begins!
Have questions or want to chat more?! No problem! I am always here to help in any way that I can! I'd love to converse via email, plan a phone call, or even hop on a video chat! I truly want to ensure that you feel the HBP Experience is the absolute BEST fit for your wedding day!
Shoot me an email with your finalized wedding date and all the event details! If you have received this packet, I have probably have already let you know that I am available! YAY! This is a great start!
